OUR MAISON

Maison Pierre Mignon works in the purest Champagne tradition, and has always set the highest standards for quality.

A FAMILY TRADITION SINCE 1892

Located in Le Breuil, in the heart of the Marne Valley, Maison Pierre Mignon embodies the excellence of a family tradition handed down from generation to generation. For over a century, the family has passionately cultivated its unique terroir, perpetuating the exacting art of champagne-making.

The story begins in 1892, when Octave Mignon installed the first presses, laying the foundations of what was to become a renowned Maison de Champagne. Over the decades, each generation has contributed to shaping its identity, combining ancestral know-how with a constant quest for quality.

It was Pierre Mignon, however, who marked a decisive turning point in the company's development. Thanks to his vision and commitment, he firmly established Maison Pierre Mignon as one of the most prestigious names on the Champagne scene. Today, the story continues with Céline and Jean-Charles Mignon, worthy heirs to this family passion, who carry on the work of their forebears, upholding the values and excellence of the House.

EXCELLENCE

In the Pierre Mignon family, excellence is a rule, a philosophy that guides them from the management of their vineyards to the preparation of their precious cuvées.

At Pierre Mignon, the creator is Jean-Charles Mignon. He crafts his champagnes like a goldsmith, with passion and great precision.
"In each of my cuvées, I aim for elegance, finesse and freshness, while retaining a beautiful aromatic touch and always a hint of delicacy, while scrupulously respecting the typicity of the terroir”. Jean-Charles Mignon.

A perfectionist at heart, Jean-Charles takes particular care in selecting the best grapes at harvest time. As far as winemaking is concerned, the Maison is equipped with all the latest technology, including a pressing hub with five presses that enable us to press the grapes very quickly after picking, and to differentiate terroirs and grape varieties to extract all their quintessence.

We favor slow, natural decanting for optimal concentration, and focus on ideal conditions in the winery to avoid denaturing aromas. The cellar master, with over 35 years' experience within the company, is careful to avoid filtering, fining and treatment of the wines, always with a view to preserving the purest aromatic expression of the terroir. Reserve wines are kept in solera, and 30-35% of wines from previous years are added to the current year's wines.

Then, in the silence and depth of the Maison's historic cellars, Pierre Mignon Champagnes take their time to develop their full expression and aromatic structure.

A COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILY

Maison Pierre Mignon has always paid scrupulous attention to the optimum quality of its grapes, the only way to produce great champagnes. Highly committed to the environment, the Mignon family has devoted its vineyards to sustainable viticulture, obtaining HVE level 3 certification in 2019. Part of the vineyard, cultivated according to the principles of organic viticulture, obtained its certification in 2024.

The entire estate is equipped with a Grander water vivifier, a vortex-generating system that restructures and 're-informs' the water. This dynamized water is then used for all treatments and tank cleaning. It also helps to harmonize and revitalize the energy of the site.
